Summary
The topic Nature and Society has triggered European dialogue and exchange since the waning middle ages. The occidental human being realised his emancipation from nature by the instrument of education. Different values unify and separate here the European education systems. The relationship between man and nature as a issue of learning facilitates a differentiated approach to the debates on and basics of intercultural education. By the belief that "knowledge is power" (Francis Bacon) modern times have disciplinated nature. Stubborn German Struwwelpeter is punished cruelly for his resistance. Discipline, repression and domination of one’s own nature are since the 18th century issues of pedagogics and expression of civilisation. Rousseau’s Emile howewer goes through a type of education aimed at developing the individual.
Pedagogues in all over Europe have directed their issues on good and bad nature. Our learning partnership intends to tackle the common educational bases in understanding, which are part of all-European identity. Contributions of a European cooperation to the intercultural discussion on European educational postulates between discipline and autonomy can change perspectives and make creative educational impulses.. The project "Piazza Natura" represents the challenge to commit to European society while facing the real diversity and complexity of cultures, education, and educational reality.
The project aims at the identification of approaches to treat the issue of creativity by exploring best practice examples. The outcome of the project will be the guideline "Piazza Natura" including documentation of best practice examples for the creative dialogue between cultures and generations and innovative impulses for the classroom, administration, economy, the world of devices, and the complex information and communication systems.
